Monster Trophies

As a trained and mutated monster-slaying machine, you will be killing a lot of monsters in the Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Monsters both big and small are your prey, slaying them will let you take their heads as trophies as a show of your skill or to complete a quest. This guide will show you the monster trophies in the Witcher 3, and tell you how to acquire them all.

The first Witcher treated monster trophies as simply proof of a successful kill. Handing them over to the quest givers yielded you experience point and some orens. In the second game, monster trophies functioned as charms that gave certain bonuses when equipped. You could also sell them, although doing that didn’t yield significant monetary gains so you would end up taking most of them with you.

Best Monster Trophies

Monster trophies in the Witcher 3 will function in much the same way as in the previous game, giving various bonuses. Your horse has a hook from which you can hang one monster trophy, though it is still not clear whether we will be able to keep unused heads in our backpack. There is a likelihood that we will only be able to carry one head at a time due to their large size, as can be seen in the videos. We’ll update this page with more details about trophy bonuses and monster locations when the game launches.
