White Orchard Places of Power

Places of Power in the Witcher 3: Wild Hunt are stones scattered throughout the game’s world. They are not marked on the map, but you can spot them in the distance as gloving stones. They are usually guarded by powerful monsters. Once you interact with it, Place of Power gives you the following rewards:
  • Ability point (only the first time you draw from it)
  • Temporary bonus intensity for a certain sign (every time you draw from it)
Given the large number of skills in the game, it is important to find and draw from every Place of Power in order to get as many ability / skill points as possible. This guide will show you the locations of all the Places of Power in White Orchard.

Herb Locations

Herbs are used for the concoction of various substances in the Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. If you plan on making potions, bombs, oils, or decoctions, you will need to have a ready supply of various herbs. They can be found everywhere – in the forests, fields, and marshes. If you plan on brewing some of the more exotic potions or oils, you will have trouble finding the right ingredients. Bank in Novigrad

There are several currencies circulating throughout the world of the Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, but the merchants will only exchange their wares for Crowns. The other coins you collect on your travels will have to be exchanged for Crowns if you wish to have any use for them, and there is no better place to do that than in the reputable Vivaldi’s Bank Novigrad. To exchange your Orens and Florens, speak to Vivaldi and choose the I’d like to convert some currency option. Orens and Florins are worth more than Crowns, however, so be prepared to leave the bank with a heavier coin sack.

There are at least three different factions decks in Gwent: the Scoia’tael, the Northern Realms, and the Nilfgaardian Empire. Each deck has unique cards, passive perks, and leader abilities. Cards can be purchased from vendors, unlocked during quests, and found throughout the world.

Best Skills at Start

The world of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is unforgiving and deadly, you will be fighting for your life from the moment the game begins. Given the large number of skills in The Witcher 3, it is vital to immediately start planing which ones you wish to unlock. The best way to do that is to decide what you want to focus on – combat, alchemy, signs, or a mixture of several – and then stick to it. To help you prepare for your travels in the Northern Realms as best as possible, we have put together a list of the best skills to invest in at the beginning of the Witcher 3, depending on the type of build you wish to play as.

You gain one ability point every time you level up. Ability points can also be gained by drawing from Places of Power, one from each. If you want to know how to spend them as best as possible, check out the full list below.

Combat Builds

best combat skillsRegardless of which path you choose, you will still have to rely on your sword some of the time. Combat builds are therefore the easiest, as the majority of the enemies you will face in the game will succumb to a sharp and swift blade. You have to spend 8 points in the first tier of combat abilities in order to unlock the second, and you have two options – the fast combat build and the strong combat build.
